Guidelines
To participate in SETC's Fall Professional Auditions, actors/singers must meet the following qualifications:
- 18 years of age or older (prior to application deadline) and not currently a student
- Ability to accept year-round employment
All auditionees are asked to submit:
- Contact Information
- Two (2) Professional References - Name, Phone, Email Address
- Audition Video - Acting Only, Singing Only, or Both Acting & Singing
- Headshot & Resume
In addition, but optional:
- Dance Reel
- Additional Audition Video - an opportunity to show more of your talent
- Movement Video - showing you're not a dancer, but can move
Video Procedures
Acting, Singing, or Both Acting & Singing
- Main Audition Video
- Sixty (60) seconds - whether acting, singing, or both.
- Required Video Elements
- Acting only - Monologue
- Singing only - Song (musical pieces should be accompanied by piano or keyboard-only – either live or piano-only track)
- Both Acting & Singing - Monologue and Song (both must be included in your video)
- No commercial clips or acting reels.
- Dance Reel - Optional
- Three (3) minutes or less
- Three (3) minutes or less
- Additional Audition Video - Optional
- Sixty (60) seconds - whether acting, singing, or both.
- This is an optional video to show more of your talent.
- No commercial clips or acting reels.
- Movement Video - Optional
- Sixty (60) seconds
Technical Requirements
- Videos (Videos that exceed these time limits will not be considered)
- Maximum time code must not breach sixty (60) seconds or one minute.
- Video files must be no larger than 500MB.
- Accepted file types: .AVI, . MP4, .MOV, .MKV
- No slate. Your name and application materials will coincide with your video.
- Frame your body from the knees up.
- Face forward, but do not audition straight into the camera lens.
- Headshot
- Photo file must be no larger than 5MB.
- Accepted file types: .JPG, .JPEG, .PNG
- Resume
- Document file must be no larger than 5MB.
- Accepted file type: .PDF
Audition Changes for 2022
The Fall Professional Auditions are traditionally held as live auditions, however we recently surveyed our professional companies that attend in the Fall and while all would like to be in-person, they have expressed that a virtual format would be better for them at this time. We have decided to once again host the auditions virtually to increase opportunities for those who are not able or willing to travel or attend in-person.
- All applicants are required to provide an audition video. This will serve as your audition.
- Time limits have changed. All auditionees will have a time limit of sixty (60) seconds regardless of the type of audition you perform.
- We have added an additional audition video upload. This is so you can show more of your talent. Please be aware that this is an additional video, your main video will serve as your official audition to be screened. If you are doing both acting and singing, your main audition video will need to have both.
- There will be no Dance Call or Dancer-Only Auditions this year. Those who wish to be viewed as dancers in addition to acting and singing may also upload a dance reel to be viewed by the hiring companies.
- There will be no Fall Qualifiers. Since we are now screening every audition/application, qualifiers have been removed.
